Cookie policy
Last updated · July 2026The short version: this site uses analytics cookies (Google Analytics) and advertising cookies (Google Ads), but they only switch on if you accept them in the cookie notice. Until you accept, nothing loads. We also use the browser's local storage for technical functions, we serve the typefaces from our own server, and we show Google Maps, which only load when you click "Show map". Here is the detail.
01What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small files that a website saves in your browser. Local storage (localStorage) is a similar mechanism: data saved only on your device that the site can read when you return. Unlike cookies, local storage is not automatically sent to any server.
02What we use exactly
| Item | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Display preferences | localStorage · first-party | Remember the page's presentation settings (for example, the typeface or density chosen in the settings panel). | Until you clear your browser data |
| Local copy of forms | localStorage · first-party | Keep a backup copy of the forms you submit in your own browser, in case the connection fails. | Until you clear your browser data |
| Level test progress | localStorage · first-party | Remember your answers if you reload the page during the test. | Until you clear your browser data |

None of these items track your browsing on other sites or are shared with third parties. As strictly necessary technical storage or mere preferences, they require no consent banner under the criteria of the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
03Third-party cookies and services
The analytics and advertising in this section only switch on if you accept them in the cookie notice. Until you accept, no cookies are loaded or set. You can change your choice at any time from the link in the notice.
- Consent management (CookieYes): we show the cookie notice with CookieYes, a Google-certified consent platform. It stores your accept-or-reject choice so we do not ask again on every visit. It is the only thing that loads before consent, because it is the mechanism that records it.
- Google Analytics: if you accept analytics, we measure in aggregate how the site is used, such as page views, where visitors come from and device type, so we can improve it. Google sets cookies like _ga and _ga_ followed by the property identifier, which tell visitors apart pseudonymously and last up to 24 months. We apply Google's Consent Mode: until you accept, the tag is not even downloaded.
- Google Ads: if you accept advertising, we measure which Google ads lead to an enquiry, what is called a conversion, so we do not waste the budget. It may set attribution cookies like _gcl_au, lasting up to 90 days. We show no ads inside this site.
- Typefaces (self-hosted): the site's fonts are served from our own server, not from Google's servers. Your browser does not connect to Google to load them, no IP address is sent to Google, and no cookies are set for this reason.
- Google Maps: we show where the centre is with a map in the footer and on the Contact page. They do not load on their own: you will see a box with a "Show map" button and, until you click it, your browser does not connect to Google and no Maps cookie is set. When you click it, the map loads and Google may set cookies on its google.com domain. The most common are NID (a unique identifier Google uses to remember your preferences and to personalise content and advertising on its own services), AEC (a security cookie: it checks that requests come from your browser and not from another site) and SOCS or CONSENT (they store your consent choices for Google services). According to Google's documentation, they last between 6 and 24 months. ULIC does not set, read or control these cookies; Google manages them. You can find more information in Google's Privacy Policy and on its page about the types of cookies Google uses.
- WhatsApp: the WhatsApp buttons are external links to wa.me. They load no Meta code on this site; when you tap them you are taken to the WhatsApp app or website, with its own policies.
04How to manage or delete this data
You can clear local storage and cookies from your browser settings (look for "clear browsing data" or "site data"). For analytics and advertising, you decide from the cookie notice: if you reject them they do not load, and you can change your mind at any time from the same notice. The Google maps only connect to Google's servers when you click "Show map". You can also block storage for this site; everything will keep working, though it will not remember your preferences or your test progress.
05Changes to this policy
If we change the services or cookies the site uses, we will update this policy and the date above. When anything requires your consent, we ask for it before switching it on, as we do now with analytics and advertising.
